The Lost Valley Trail was 20 years in the making and has been accomplished through a partnership with the City of Bainbridge Island, Bainbridge Island Parks & Trails Foundation, Bainbridge Island Metro Parks and Bainbridge's dedicated community efforts. This trail fills in a significant gap on The Cross Island Trail route which connects Winslow and Eagle Harbor to Strawberry Plant Park to Gazzam Lake to Crystal Springs on the West side of Bainbridge Island. This trail is also a community collector trail that will feed the south end of the island into the Sound to Olympics (STO) Trail at Winslow Way. NKTA is an ongoing partner with Bainbridge Island Parks & Trails Foundation on the Puget Sound to Pacific (PS2P) Collaborative to fill approx. 100 miles of gaps in the PS2P trail route from the Bainbridge Ferry terminal to Forks WA on the Pacific Ocean, which includes the +25-mile section of the STO Trail in North Kitsap.
